The BRICS International Alliance Strategic Projects (BRICS IASP) was established on February 29, 2016, with its headquarters registered in Russia. The Russian Federation's competent authority is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Russian Federation's establishment originated from the Seventh Meeting of BRICS Leaders in Ufa in 2015 and the spirit of the Ufa Declaration. It was led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and joined forces with multiple government agencies to jointly promote its establishment. As a non-profit international organization, the Alliance operates independently in accordance with the Charter and focuses on supporting strategic cooperation and project implementation between BRICS countries and global emerging markets and developing countries. At present, the alliance has established representative offices in more than 60 countries around the world and established an efficient international cooperation network covering Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America.
